I must have walked by Barfly 300 times. Just looks like your classic neighborhood bar with great food, decent drinks, friendly people, and some bar games. Also the sign and design of this place looks like something stolen out of 1983. I half imagined everyone in here to look like a scene from a Michael J Fox movie, with jean jackets and stuff. That didnt happen, but it was a cool place to grab a beer.

I met Wario here after I was at the Hairy Monk (my Boston bar, #7) watching the draft, sox, B’s and C’s games. We stayed for a drink or 2 (i was pretty sloshed at this point, after housing beers during the B’s game), and decided that there was only one thing left to do when completely sloshed and within 20 blocks of Union Square… Thats right… Bar None (#16).

When we arrived at Bar None we split a pitcher and I think we tried hitting on these girls, but it was an utter disaster cause we were both wasted, and at that point I knew it was time to make the long trek home. I knew it was a sloppy night because I woke up the next morning with the TV and lights on in my room, something that NEVER happens, no matter how wasted I am.

Anyways, that doesnt really give you too much insight about barfly. I just liked the place because it reminds me of back to the future, and it seems like a great place to watch a game. Also, Im sure your all aware but a lot of attractive girls work the bars in NYC, I was pretty drunk but I remember this one being gorgeous. Again, that is all heavy speculation. But I think i remember it that way.

Also, I really like the name Barfly, because its an old term for a drunkard who is a regular at his local watering hole. I have only heard the term used once during an episode of cheers, in which norm refers to himself as a barfly at the cheers bar. Baller.
